Authority Review Cadence

A practical review structure for ensuring permissions, evidence standards and named owners remain valid as operations change.

Use this when

A workflow has been in use long enough for people to forget why its permissions were set, or the operating context has changed around it.

Governance is not a launch task. It is the repeated human work of confirming that the authority model still matches the business reality.

Review the boundary, not just performance

A workflow can appear useful and still be governed badly. Review whether its permission ceiling, evidence conditions and named owner remain appropriate.

Make revocation normal

A mature system can narrow, pause or revoke authority without treating it as failure. Review is where the organisation proves that human authority still matters.

What must happen next, by whom and by when?
If nobody can explain when the authority was last reviewed, it is not an active governance boundary—it is a forgotten setting.
